Weigh programme availability, scholarship deadlines and how much time you need to prepare your documents. Start at least three to four months before your chosen intake, because EMGS processing takes several weeks.
Malaysia Student Visa Requirements For International Students
All international students who study longer than 90 days need a student visa and Student Pass. Your institution applies through EMGS, and you must obtain the eVAL before you travel. Typical processing time is about four to six weeks, and sometimes up to eight weeks.

- Valid passport with at least 12 months' validity (some institutions require 18 months)
- Academic certificates and transcripts and English proficiency evidence
- Pre-medical examination report from an approved doctor, plus medical screening after you arrive

Post-Study Work Opportunities In Malaysia
International students can take part-time work only during semester breaks or holidays of more than seven days, up to 20 hours a week, in permitted sectors such as restaurants, petrol stations, mini-markets and hotels, and only with the immigration department's approval while your Student Pass remains valid.
Malaysia does not offer a general post-study work visa. Graduates who want to work usually need an employer to sponsor an Employment Pass, which has minimum salary and qualification thresholds, so many Bangladeshi graduates use Malaysia as an affordable route to a degree and then continue to work or study elsewhere.
